ターナーと太陽

ジョナサン・クレーリー『観察者の系譜』の５章「視覚的＝幻視的抽象化」に出てくる、ターナーの２枚の絵。これは太陽の観察とからめて出てくる。クレーリーによれば、ターナーと太陽の関係はよく知られているというのだが、実は、わたしはこの本でそういうことを知った。
この本で取りあげられる２枚の絵は図版として同書に収録されているのだが、モノクロで分かりにくい。なので、テートよりカラーをみてみたほうがいいと思う。
